Inside Our Cinematic Color Grading Process

We build a custom LUT for every couple based on venue lighting and skin tones, then hand-grade scene by scene — no two films leave our studio with the exact same look.

It starts with the culling process. Out of hours of raw footage, our editors select only the takes that carry real emotion — a genuine laugh, an unscripted glance — before a single grading decision is made.

Skin tone accuracy comes first, always. Warm venue lighting, mixed colour temperatures across multiple cameras, and harsh midday sun can all push skin tones off-true, so we correct and match every camera angle before any stylistic grade is applied.

Only once skin tones are locked do we build the film's signature look — lifted shadows for a softer, romantic feel, or deeper contrast and richer golds for a more dramatic, editorial film, depending on the couple and the venue.

Sound gets equal attention. We sync on-location audio, layer in licensed score, and mix dialogue and ambience so the film feels as considered on a phone speaker as it does on a home theatre system.

Pacing is where most wedding films go wrong. We cut for rhythm, not runtime — ending a scene the moment it's said what it needs to say, rather than holding shots just because they're beautiful.

Every film goes through a full client review round before final delivery, and we hand over both a cinema-cut and shorter social-length edits, so the story works whether it's playing on a screen at your reception or in a 60-second reel.
